Oliver Brandt

Oliver Brandt (they/them) is an award-winning journalist, musician, and composer based in Tasmania, Australia. A media and communications graduate, they have a love for puzzle games, turn-based RPGs, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and any platformer with a double jump. Oliver worked in the live music industry as an audio engineer for a number of years before pivoting to marketing and promoting, ultimately transitioning into games media writing when they became deputy editor for Australian website Vooks in 2017. They have written for a number of outlets, both in Australia and overseas, including Maxi-Geek, News.com.au, Men's Journal, Parade, Newsweek, The Sun, ESPN, and a handful of regional newspapers. They have also worked as both an accessibility consultant and a composer on two unannounced indie video games, and are a fierce advocate for improved accessibility in video games, film, and TV.
