One of the strangest locations you’ll find in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the Gestral Beaches that are scattered across the world. The first you’re likely to find will challenge you with a short parkour course. If you complete it – not the easiest task, given the character’s movement is not designed for this kind of thing – you’ll be rewarded by the Gestral at the end with a swimsuit for Lune.

However, they then offer a challenge. If you can answer their question correctly, they will give you a second swimsuit. The question: “If I were two years old, at what age would I Gommage?” We’ll give you the answer in this guide.

What is the answer to the beach Gestral’s question?

The answer is 17 years old, but surprise! It doesn’t actually matter.

No matter what answer you give, the Gestral will admit that they can’t count and will just assume that you’re correct, giving you the swimsuit as a reward.

If you’re curious, though, you work this out by simultaneously counting up the age of the child and down the number on the Monolith. So when the child turns three, the Gommage will be 32, when it turns four, 31, and so on. 17 is when these numbers meet in the middle, which is quite a depressing reality for the citizens of Lumiere.
