It’s time for the final update of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 as the build to the brand new Star Wars season continues. As we’re nearing the end of the season, there aren’t any major gameplay changes or additions in this update, with most of the stuff focusing on new skins - like the new WWE Fortnite skins that were added this weekend - and a little bit of content to cap off this season’s narrative.

Still, there’s a lot of cool stuff coming, so we’ve put together a full recap of the Fortnite patch notes for update v34.40.

New TMNT skins

New Fortnite skins for Beop, Casey Jones, Rocksteady, and Krang's Android.
Fortnite / Epic Games

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are taking over Fortnite once more. With all four of the iconic turtles, April O’Neal, Splinter, and Shredder already in the game, more of the turtles’ cast of memorable characters are joining the Fortnite roster. Some time between now and the end of the season, Casey Jones, Rocksteady, Bebop, and Krang’s Android will all be appearing in the item shop.

Marvel Thunderbolts skins

The Winter Soldier and the White Widow as Fortnite skins for Thunderbolts.
Fortnite / Epic Games

With the release of the Marvel Thunderbolts film very close at hand, the two most popular characters from that will be appearing in Fortnite for this update. The Winter Soldier and The White Widow will both be getting skins in the cell-shaded comic book aesthetic that Fortnite occasionally uses, similar to the Deadpool and Wolverine skins from last year.

May 2025 Crew Pack revealed

A new Fortnite skin called Kwame, featuring a man with black hair that covers his eyes wearing a suit and combat gear.
Fortnite / Epic Games

Fortnite Crew is the monthly subscription service Fortnite offers. Alongside access to all of the game’s Battle Passes, Crew subscribers get an exclusive skin every month. This month’s skin is Kwame, who mixes a dapper-looking suit with a bunch of combat gear, including modern assault tools and a sword on his belt. Like other Crew skins, you’ll unlock new styles for Kwame every month you remain subscribed to Fortnite Crew.

New original skins

Several Fortnite skins. A large man with cyan hair, a man and woman wearing white animal masks, a bride with a burned dress
Fortnite / Epic Games

Like with most updates, a handful of new original skins are dropping too, with a great variety in this update. The Widow is a pale bride in a burned-up dress; Lapin and Renard look like operatives of some secret organization that really like foxes and rabbits; and Vik Vice is ready to fight. We don’t know exactly when these skins will drop just yet, but you can expect them to be available in the item shop before the end of the season.

Chapter 6 Season 3 teaser

Also in this update is a brand new loading screen that gives us a teaser of what’s in store for Chapter 6 Season 3, which has already been confirmed to center around Star Wars. The loading screen, titled Galactic Battle, shows what appears to be a female wookiee in a duel with a samurai version of Darth Vader, while samurai Stormtroopers look on menacingly in the background – let’s just hope they’re more accurate with melee weapons than they are with blasters.
