Genshin Impact – Iansan build and materials guide
By Marco Wutz

Bulk up and steel your body with the best Genshin Impact Iansan build. The renowned fitness coach from Natlan is a 4-Star character who deals Electro DMG and wields a polearm, but she’s taking on more of a supporting role in any case, staying true to her occupation.
Table of Contents
Iansan’s Elemental Skill, Thunderbolt Rush, makes her charge forward, dealing Electro DMG to enemies in her path and regenerating Nightsoul Points, and enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. Using a Normal Attack within five seconds of this enables Iansan to make an enhanced Charged Attack without stamina cost.
During Nightsoul’s Blessing, Iansan can execute Charged Attacks dealing Electro DMG in their area of effect, has increased movement speed, and can enter Rushing Thunderbolt mode when sprinting. This provides another boost to movement speed and allows Iansan to leap over terrain or move over liquid surfaces.
Her Elemental Burst, The Three Principles of Power, deals Electro DMG in an area of effect and restores Nightsoul Points, putting her into the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. She also pulls out her Kinetic Energy Scale, which follows around the active character and boosts their ATK depending on Iansan’s Nightsoul Points:
- If Iansan has less than 42 Nightsoul Points, the ATK buff is based on her Nightsoul Points and her ATK.
- If Iansan has at least 42 Nightsoul Points, the ATK buff is bolstered and based on her ATK alone.
While the Kinetic Energy Scale is active, the distance your active character moves is recorded, restoring Nightsoul Points to Iansan accordingly.
It’s worth noting that Iansan’s Passive Skills allow her to heal party members based on her ATK when they use a Nightsoul Burst and that her enhanced Charged Attack provides her with a buff (called Precise Movement) to ATK as well as a bonus to Nightsoul Points regeneration, so it’s a vital part of her kit.
Iansan’s Constellations, which can be unlocked by pulling duplicates of her, have the following effects:
Level | Effects |
---|---|
1 | - Restores 15 Energy for every 6 Nightsoul Points consumed during the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. |
2 | - Using Elemental Burst triggers the Precise Movement effect. |
3 | - Increases Level of Elemental Skill by three, up to a maximum of 15. |
4 | - Creates two stacks of Surging Force for Iansan if the active character activates their Elemental Burst while Kinetic Energy Scale is active. |
5 | - Increases Level of Elemental Burst by three, up to a maximum of 15. |
6 | - Increases the duration of Kinetic Energy Scale by 3 seconds. |

Iansan’s most crucial stat is ATK, since this maximizes her usefulness for the team. Calamity Queller is therefore her best option, as it promises the highest possible ATK gains via effects and sub stats. Vortex Vanquisher is another option, but only when a shielder is present on the team to allow Iansan to make full use of its effects.
Best weapons for Iansan in Genshin Impact:

Best Iansan artifacts – Genshin Impact
Aside from the all-important ATK, Iansan requires a healthy amount of Energy Recharge, as you might already have been able to guess from some of her weapon options. Energy is vital to have her Elemental Burst up and running as often as possible, maximizing her support effect. You can fill any empty slots with Elemental Mastery to enhance reaction damage as well as CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate to squeeze a little more damage out of Iansan’s Charged Attacks.

Best Iansan teams – Genshin Impact
Iansan provides useful boosts to any character requiring ATK, though she naturally shines the most in Natlan-based team compositions due to the Nightsoul synergy.
- Varesa (Main DPS), Furina (Sub DPS), Xianyun (Support), Iansan (Support)
Varesa is the headliner of this team with Xianyun being her most crucial Support, as she’s able to substantially increase the Plunging Attack DMG dealt by the Main DPS. She contributes some Swirl reactions as well, allowing her to reduce the Elemental RES of enemies. Furina provides off-field Hydro application and enhances the entire team’s damage output through her Elemental Burst. Iansan comes in clutch with immense ATK buffs and shares the burden of healing the team with Xianyun. You’ll want to have Iansan take action right before Varesa in your rotation, ensuring that the Main DPS can take advantage of all the buffs provided by the Support.
