The huge mobile success of Pokémon TCG Pocket has been amazing to see, and the development team isn’t slowing down, as the new Celestial Guardians set is due to be released on April 30, 2025.

Celestial Guardians is a much more meaty set than the last two expansions. This one features two different booster packs with unique cards to earn from each, one themed after Solgaleo and another for Lunala. You’ll know these Pokémon as the main legendary Pokémon for the Sun and Moon games, and the ones from the box art.

The Alola region from Sun and Moon is the main focus of the set. In addition to the two legendary Pokémon we’ve already mentioned, the Alolan starter trio of Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio will be present, in addition to the unique Alolan forms of familiar Pokémon like Raichu and Meowth.

The set will feature the very first Immersive Trainer card in the game, with a beautiful Lillie card that heals 60 damage from one of your Stage 2 Pokémon. Great for a late-game save. This comes along with other Trainer cards based on Sun and Moons Trial Leaders, which replaced traditional Gym Leaders in that region.

The Pokémon Company also wants to  celebrate Pokémon TCG Pocket’s six-month anniversary, so players will be able to enjoy a new event that’s coming to the game and will make Rayquaza ex Promo cards available, in addition to unique cosmetics.

It’s still unknown whether or not promised updates to the Trading mechanic will be included in this new set update.
