Dune: Awakening release delayed by three weeks
By Marco Wutz

Any sci-fi fans looking forward to playing Dune: Awakening will need a bit more patience than anticipated, as Funcom has delayed the MMO’s release date from May 20 to June 10, 2025, on PC. Advanced Access is now set to begin on June 5.
In a statement about the delay, the developers reasoned that they needed “a bit more time to cook” to “act on a lot more of the feedback we know is important to our beta testers.”
“This is not a decision we take lightly, we know everyone is very excited to get playing, but these three extra weeks will give us the time needed to make improvements that will lead to a better gameplay experience from day one,” Funcom stated.
There is good news for people who simply can’t wait to play for much longer, though, since the full release’s delay has opened up a window of opportunity in May to host a beta weekend, “where even more of you will get the opportunity to play the game and share your feedback.” Funcom wants to share more information about this upcoming test soon.
Dune: Awakening is scheduled to come to PC before making its way to consoles at a later date. A survival crafting MMO, the title is set on the famous desert world of Arrakis, though not in the timeline fans of the Dune novels or movies will be familiar with. One vital thing is the same: The arid world is home to Spice, a crucial and therefore valuable resource that entire wars are being fought over, for he who controls the Spice controls the universe.
Funcom intends for players to form guilds and alliances, spin intrigues and betray each other, and wage massive conflicts among the dunes.
