Oblivion Remastered is out right now on Game Pass, PS5, and Steam
By Ryan Woodrow

After years of rumours, a leak last week, and Bethesda insisting it didn’t know anything about it as recently as this weekend, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered has been, not just revealed, but released by Bethesda on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC via both the Xbox Windows app and Steam.
As expected, the game still runs on the same engine as the original, with Unreal Engine 5 layered on top to handle the graphics. However, there have been changes made to the gameplay too, with reworked player animations, levelling, and things like combat SFX and hit reacts from enemies – things that weren’t in the original, only coming around when Skyrim released.

That, plus a selection of new quests and cosmetics in the deluxe edition comes at a heftier data cost though, as this game is a 119GB download, which is a big step up from the 4.6GB of the original.
The game is available to download right now. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber on either PC or Xbox Series X/S, then you can download it right now either directly on your console, or from the Xbox Windows app on PC – it is a play anywhere game too. Otherwise, the base game costs $49.99, with the deluxe edition costing $59.99.
The base edition comes with all of the original DLC for Oblivion, including the Shimmering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions. The deluxe edition includes all of the new content made for this remaster, which includes new quests to get the armor and weapons of Order and Cataclysm, two new sets of horse armor, as well as the artbook and soundtrack.
