Genshin Impact 5.6 banners: Escoffier and Ifa debut

Every new and returning character coming to Genshin Impact with Version 5.6.
HoYoverse

Version 5.6 of Genshin Impact may bring players back to Mondstadt, but the update’s banners feature characters from all across Teyvat.

Debuting in Genshin Impact 5.6 are Escoffier, a renowned chef from Fontaine and the update’s sole new 5-Star character, and 4-Star character Ifa, Ororon’s good buddy and veterinarian from Natlan. This constellation is mirrored in the rerun banners, where we have 5-Stars from the two mentioned nations in addition to another appearance by Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder — Raiden Shogun.

A bit of a wild mixture, but that at least ensures that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Genshin Impact 5.6 banners: Phase 1

Starting on May 7, 2025, with update 5.6’s launch, you’ll be able to call upon the following characters:

  • Banner #1: Escoffier (5-Star, Cryo, Polearm), Ifa (4-Star, Anemo, Catalyst), and two 4-Star characters
  • Banner #2: Navia (5-Star, Geo, Claymore), Ifa (4-Star, Anemo, Catalyst), and two 4-Star characters

Escoffier

Escoffier comes with a versatile set of skills, being able to deal Cryo DMG actively as well as from an off-field position. She also comes with the unique ability to absorb elemental attacks, which she can then transform into food. Somewhat similar to Mizuki, she comes with healing capabilities in the form of her Elemental Burst.

Navia

Navia forgets about being a graceful lady in combat, wielding a Claymore to devastating effect — especially when she infuses it with Geo energy. When all else fails, Navia uses the shotgun built into her parasol to deal massive Geo DMG. She’s best slotted into a mixed team with one other Geo character and two flexible spots.

Ifa

Ifa provides the usual skill set you can expect from Anemo characters, so he’s fantastic for any reaction-based teams thanks to his ability to trigger Swirl and can provide crown control, pulling enemies into one spot. He’s especially good at boosting Electro-Charged reactions, making him a great fit for Electro and Hydro compositions.

Genshin Impact 5.6 banners: Phase 2

After a duration of three weeks, the banners will change at the halfway point of the game version on May 28, 2025. That’ll make the following characters available:

  • Banner #3: Kinich (5-Star, Dendro, Claymore) and three 4-Star characters
  • Banner #4: Raiden Shogun (5-Star, Electro, Polearm) and three 4-Star characters

Kinich

Kinich is a powerful damage dealer with a hybrid playstyle that features melee and ranged attacks. Using his hunting techniques, Kinich can grapple his prey with a rope, allowing for a barrage of ranged Dendro attacks as he circles around the enemy, dealing major damage.

Raiden Shogun

Raiden Shogun is an absolute machine, mowing down enemies with her Polearm or the mighty Musou no Hitotachi. She thrives in reaction-heavy teams and wants tons of Energy Recharge to power up her attacks.

Version 5.6 will also include a Chronicled Wish banner with the following characters and their signature weapons:

  • Kamisato Ayaka
  • Kamisato Ayato
  • Yoimiya
  • Chiori
  • Yae Miko
  • Arataki Itto
