HoYoverse applies for Honkai: Nexus Anima trademark
By Marco Wutz

HoYoverse has applied for a new trademark in Korea, hoping to secure the rights to “Honkai: Nexus Anima” in categories like computer game software, music, images, electronic publishing, animation production, and toys, according to Korean media citing the application in KIPRIS, the country’s IP information retrieval service. A similar application can be found on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s page.
Additionally, the company appears to have reserved social media profiles for the brand this month. In regular HoYoverse fashion, there seems to be one global account with regional offshoots serving Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Spain, Germany, France, Brazil, and Russia in their languages.
HoYoverse has not officially announced a new Honkai game, though it’s been known to work on at least one project that is supposed to become part of the series. Various job postings from the past months connected to the game indicate that it could include creature collection elements — think Pokémon, Palworld, and Azur Promilia.
However, Honkai: Nexus Anima could be an entirely different project to that one, given that there are always several things cooking at HoYoverse and we don’t hear about every single one.
Last year, HoYoverse already secured trademarks for Astaweave Haven and Petit Planet — the latter is speculated to be a rebrand of the former, with fans believing that the title is the studio’s long-rumored take on Animal Crossing. Despite the secured rights, the game remains unannounced, though, so it could be a while before HoYoverse publicly acknowledges Honkai: Nexus Anima in any capacity.
