The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered leaks detail platforms, visual upgrades

And horse armor, of course.

A remastered version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion has long been rumored and new leaks are seemingly confirming its existence.

A set of in-game screenshots, pre-order infographics, and comparison shots between the 2006 original and the remastered version has been uploaded to the website of developer Virtuos — without any protection against the prying eyes of fanatic fans, who’ve promptly discovered them and posted their findings on Reddit. Virtuous reacted quickly to the leak, pulling the assets from its website.

According to the leaked material, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered looks to be a major visual upgrade over the original game with the comparison shots being especially striking. This might be a bigger improvement than many fans hearing the rumors have expected.

Logos on the assets appear to confirm that the game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. It seems like players will also be able to access it via Xbox Game Pass. A Deluxe Edition contains several content add-ons, among them some horse armor — a nod to the DLC that birthed many memes and is still regarded as the root of all evil by some gamers, being an early, prominent example of microtransactions and mini-expansions for full price video games.

No official release date for Oblivion Remastered has been announced, but the fact that Virtuos was getting ready to update its portfolio with work done on the game should be evidence for an announcement being planned sooner rather than later.
