Zenless Zone Zero 1.7 banners – Vivian and Hugo debut
By Marco Wutz

Major changes are on the horizon for Zenless Zone Zero with its impending Version 2.0 update and Xbox release, but HoYoverse has one final update in store before all of that comes to pass — and Version 1.7 looks to be a good one when it comes to its banners.
Table of Contents
Phaethon’s number one fan, Vivian, joins the fray as the latest Anomaly Agent and looks to be a perfect addition to existing line-ups of this archetype. If you thought your Miyabi team couldn’t be any better, you’ll have to reassess the situation. Then there’s Hugo, the mysterious vigilante. His addition will thrill anyone who likes to go all-in on Stun Agents, as this Attack character benefits even more from frequent Stuns than any other Agent so far.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Zenless Zone Zero 1.7 banners for Agents and W-Engines.
ZZZ 1.7 banners: Phase 1
Starting on April 23, 2025, with version 1.7’s release, you’ll be able to call upon the following characters and W-Engines:
- Vivian (S-Rank, Ether, Anomaly), Piper (A-Rank, Physical, Anomaly), Seth (A-Rank, Electric, Defense)
- Jane (S-Rank, Physical, Anomaly), Piper (A-Rank, Physical, Anomaly), Seth (A-Rank, Electric, Defense)
- Flight of Fancy (S-Rank, Anomaly), Roaring Ride (A-Rank, Anomaly), Peacekeeper – Specialized (A-Rank, Defense)
- Sharpened Stinger (S-Rank, Anomaly), Roaring Ride (A-Rank, Anomaly), Peacekeeper – Specialized (A-Rank, Defense)
Vivian
Vivian combines lethality and elegance, using her parasol like a fencer would use a rapier — only to then take off into the air by using the rocket boosters hidden up her skirt and attack from above. While fighting on the field, Vivian collects resources that she automatically spends to execute off-field attacks while she’s switched out, continuing the Ether Anomaly build-up and triggering Disorders. Capable of inflicting damage over time and bolstering the might of fellow Anomaly Agents, Vivian looks to be a powerful addition to teams featuring the likes of Miyabi, Yanagi, Burnice, and Jane.
Jane
A lethal whirlwind on the battlefield, Jane is especially effective at countering enemies’ moves as she dodges. Though she’s not quite as powerful as someone like Miyabi, Jane remains a potent Anomaly Agent who is adept at inflicting Assault on her foes, which paves the way for her team to trigger Disorders.
Piper
Piper fills a similar role to Jane in terms of inflicting Physical Anomalies on enemies, but plays in a completely different way: Where Jane is light and speedy, Piper is a heavy-hitter and feels like she’s getting dragged around by the giant axe she’s wielding — though she can spin to win and even buff her allies by doing so.
Seth
Seth is an ideal companion for Jane and other Anomaly Agents. He can not only keep them safe by providing shields, but also facilitates quick rotations and buffs their ability to inflict Anomalies.
ZZZ 1.7 banners: Phase 2
Phase 2 will begin on May 14, 2025, and run for three weeks from that point on. You’ll be able to get the following characters and W-Engines in this time period:
- Hugo (S-Rank, Ice, Attack), Soukaku (A-Rank, Ice, Support), Anton (A-Rank, Electric, Attack)
- Lighter (S-Rank, Fire, Stun), Soukaku (A-Rank, Ice, Support), Anton (A-Rank, Electric, Attack)
- Myriad Eclipse (S-Rank, Attack), Bashful Demon (A-Rank, Support), Drill Rig – Red Axis (A-Rank, Attack)
- Blazing Laurel (S-Rank, Stun), Bashful Demon (A-Rank, Support), Drill Rig – Red Axis (A-Rank, Attack)
Hugo
Hugo brings a suitcase to the battlefield that transforms into a deadly scythe, slicing and dicing his enemies. He gains additional offensive power when attacking stunned foes, which increases depending on how much longer the targeted enemies are stunned. Inflicting his special Totalize effect, Hugo can immediately remove Stuns from an enemy and inflict a great amount of Daze, essentially accelerating the Stun rate at the cost of reducing Stun duration to maximize his DPS. Naturally, having Stun Agents on his team will be vital.
Lighter
Lighter is an excellent Stun Agent, who is especially great at assisting Fire and Ice Agents. His kit not only enables him to inflict generous amounts of pain and Daze, but also to debuff foes to make them more susceptible to damage. If you need a Stun character to support your Fire and Ice compositions, Lighter is a fantastic choice.
Soukaku
Soukaku is a great Support Agent for Ice compositions, enhancing the ATK and Ice DMG of her team’s Main DPS. She’s a bit clunky to use due to her slow attacks and vulnerability during her vital EX Special Attack, but she’s always a valuable asset to have.
Anton
Anton is one of ZZZ’s weaker characters, though not necessarily because he can’t deal damage — he’s quite potent if there’s enough Shock infliction on his team. His most powerful attack is an inconvenient one to use, making Anton feel very clumsy to use.
ZZZ 1.7 will be out on April 23, 2025, for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android.
