ZZZ 2.0 Preview PV teases new Agents, including a big robot, a dragon with a tail-gun, and a panda

And the plot thickens.
HoYoverse

HoYoverse is really ramping up the hype for Version 2.0 of Zenless Zone Zero and the latest piece of the marketing machinery is a hot one indeed: The ZZZ 2.0 Preview PV provided the fans with a glimpse at the upcoming storyline as well as a tease of potential new Agents that could join the line-up of playable characters — and there are some really exciting designs to look forward to.

As Belle and Wise move into a different part of New Eridu, they seem to be getting brand-new outfits to match its serene and more traditional vibes. Among the already known characters to appear in the trailer are Yi Xuan and her apprentice, Ju Fufu — the latter already showed up in the game, while the former was revealed in a recent livestream showcasing ZZZ’s Xbox port.

Here’s where it gets really interesting, though: One scene showed a burly robot and a dragon girl that has a gun fused into her tail, both wearing uniform-like outfits in the colors of the New Eridu Defense Forces. As the developers have already announced that Obol Squad, the unit Soldier 11 and Trigger belong to, will play a major role in the upcoming story, we can deduce that these might be some of their squad mates — especially because the name Seed, which decorates the big robot, has already been mentioned in the game in connection with the team.

Captain Magus, having been identified as a man throughout the story, is unlikely to be in contention to be the dragon lady, who should then be the Orphie mentioned by Trigger.

Other candidates to be playable Agents are the short rabbit girl wielding a hefty axe, seen with a very smug look on her face alongside a man who might be an HIA investigator, the burly panda checking out a shop in one scene, the punk-inspired cat man walking through an alley, and the two girls located in some sort of underground area. One investigates the place and is being scared off by the other one’s pet. Then we have two people appearing briefly and wearing similar uniforms to Yi Xuan and Ju Fufu – the woman at the end of the teaser and a man with a long blonde ponytail seen briefly behind Belle and Wise earlier in the video. They might complete Yi Xuan’s faction.

Plotwise, we seem to be getting more into the political machinations of the T.O.P.S. Alliance and the Exaltist Cult with devious antagonist Sarah making an appearance — and even she seems to be scared or weirded out by the potential cult leader teased in the trailer.

ZZZ 2.0 is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android in June 2025.
