Xbox gamers have plenty to look forward to in 2023. Here are some of the most anticipated games coming out this year.
While first-party Xbox releases were hard to come by in 2022, things are set to change in 2023 with a number of huge titles set to launch throughout the year from Xbox studios. That said, third-party releases will still be dominating the calendar, with titles from Capcom, EA and more.
With plenty to look forward to, here are 10 of the most anticipated games coming to Xbox Series X|S in 2023.

1. Starfield - TBD 2023
Bethesda's upcoming RPG, Starfield, is arguably the most anticipated game releasing in 2023. Set to include over 1,000 planets to explore, this new IP might also be the year's most ambitious title. Starfield was originally scheduled to release in November 2022, but was delayed until sometime the first half of 2023. Neither Microsoft or Bethesda have given a new, official release date for this PC and Xbox exclusive, so watch this space.
2. Redfall - TBD 2023
Another new game from Bethesda, this time from development studio arm Arkane Austin. Redfall is a new open-world FPS set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts. The problem? It's overun with vampires. Players can choose among four playable characters, each with their own abilities, and go it alone or with friends to cull the threat. Like Starfield, Redfall is set to launch in the first half of 2023.
3. Forza Motorsport - TBD 2023
The next entry into the Forza franchise is simply titled Forza Motorsport. Intended as a reboot, this upcoming motorsport-racing game was first announced during Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase back in July 2020. It's expected to release this Spring on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
4. Planet Of Lana - TBD 2023
Follow the story of a young girl on a mysterious and vibrant planet accompanied by a little black cat. Together they navigate puzzles, discover strange machines and creatures, and discover secrets that span across galaxies and centuries. Planet of Lana, developed by Wishful, launches in Spring on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
5. Replaced - TBD 2023
An action-platformer developed by Sad Cat Studios, Replaced offers players retro sci-fi action in a 2.5D pixel artstyle. Players assume the role of an AI trapped in a human body, who has failed to assimilate with human societ. Replaced launches this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
6. Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl - TBD 2023
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the long-awaited sequel to 2007's Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. In this survival-horror first-person shooter, players find themselves in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone on the hunt for artifacts. The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023
7. Ark 2 - TBD 2023
Ark 2, sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved, has been a hotly anticipated game since its announcement at The Game Awards 2020. The game will star Vin Diesel and Auliʻi Cravalho in key roles and is set to enter early access on Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
8. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II - TBD
The sequel to Ninja Theory's striking Hellblade, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II reunites players with Senua as she accepts her mental illness as a part of her, while leading her own tribe through its struggles. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II was announced back in 2019, and while it will launch on Xbox and PC, the game doesn't have a release window just yet.
9. The Outer Worlds 2 - TBD
Follow-up to Obsidian's 2019 RPG The Outer Worlds, the sequel was announced during Xbox and Bethesda's joint E3 presentation in 2021. Though the game doesn't have a release date just yet, it's set to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
10. Fable - TBD
A surprise announcement during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020, Fable is set to reboot the iconic RPG series. This time, the development is being helmed by Playground Games. Sadly, Fable doesn't have a release date yet but it will launching on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
