IEM Beijing-Haidian kicked off Thursday with eight international teams vying for the fourth Intel Grand Slam Season 3 event.

Top teams such as Astralis, Evil Geniuses, FaZe Clan, Team Vitality and the recently-minted 100 Thieves are in attendance fighting for the lion’s share of a $250,000 prize pool. The winner also earns a direct invite to IEM Katowice in February. While there have been a few surprises so far, the matches have been fairly straight forward.

Here are the three best matches of IEM Beijing.

3. 100 Thieves vs. ENCE Decider Match

100 Thieves have done an excellent job with their premier tournament after the former Renegades roster was signed by 100 Thieves. While the team defeated ENCE earlier in the tournament, they went on to lose to Astralis, forcing them to face ENCE one final time to qualify for the playoffs. 100 Thieves won both matches with a scoreline of 16:9 and 16:7 on Inferno and Nuke respectively.

2. Team Vitality vs. FaZe Clan Winner’s Match

Group B saw a tougher playing field as the matches were closer and teams struggled to finish off games. After FaZe Clan and Team Vitality won their initial matches, they faced off to see who would win the first seed out of Group B. Vitality won the first map on Nuke with a 16:9 scoreline, but FaZe bounced back quickly with a 16:6 victory on Overpass.

The last map was all Vitality as they dominated on Inferno with a 16:3 victory.

1. FaZe Clan vs. Evil Geniuses Decider Match

FaZe struck first blood with a victory on Nuke with a 16:12 scoreline. Evil Geniuses showed signs of life on Inferno, but the score was fairly close at 16:14. Map 3 went to overtime and FaZe Clan was able to squeeze out a victory on Dust II. Evil Geniuses have had problems with consistent showings.

Even with victories at ESL One New York and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8, the team failed to make it to the playoffs at DreamHack Malmo and now, IEM Beijing-Haidian.

Astralis defeated 100 Thieves 3-0 to win IEM Beijing early Sunday morning.
