5 Most Dominant Teams in LCS Regular Season History
With G2 Esports looking poised to go into EU LCS playoffs undefeated, and TSM barely squeaking a first place finish in the NA LCS, I thought it would be fun to look back at the most dominant regular season teams in LCS history.
5. SK Gaming - 2015 EU Spring Split (15-3)
The EU LCS leading up to 2015 had a tendency for being more competitive domestically than other regions. By the time the rest of the competition had figured out SK's early game strategies, it was too late.
4. Immortals - 2016 NA Spring Split (17-1)
Despite the botched playoff run tainting Immortals' 2016 Spring Split, the roster made use of the strong synergy between top laner Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon and Jungler Kim "Reignover" Ui-jin, to command a 17-1 record during the regular season.
3. TSM - 2016 NA Summer Split (17-1)
Commonly referred to as the NA super team, TSM dominated their way to a 17-1 performance just a split after Immortals' run.
Following a disappointing end to the previous split thanks to a 2-3 loss in the finals to CLG, TSM bounced back in the biggest way possible.
The double carry threat of Soren "Bjergsen" Bjerg and Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng proved too much for their opponents.
2. Cloud9 - 2013 NA Summer Split (25-3)
The inaugural year of the LCS saw five of the eight competing teams with losing records, and the unknown at the time Cloud9 staring down at them all from the top.
C9 utilized their insane team fighting ability and intelligent map play to snowball victories left and right. The competition stood no chance and it was clear a new NA powerhouse had arrived.
1. Fnatic - 2015 EU Summer Split (18-0)
It was the perfect season. As the first and only team ever to not drop a game in the LCS, the 2015 Summer Split Fnatic squad will go down as one of the best teams in League of Legends History.
Not only did they go all the way in the playoffs, they went as far as securing a top four finish at Worlds that year.
