1. Alien: Isolation
Creative Assembly's first-person survival horror is one of the best adaptations of the Alien franchise ever committed to games. Players take on the role of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of iconic hero Ellen Ripley, whose search for her mother leaves her stranded on Sevastopol Station. Caught between rogue androids, desperate humans, and the ever-stalking Xenomorph, Ripley must do all she can to escape the station alive.

2. Back 4 Blood
A spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood is a great PvE shooter to play alone of with a team of friends. Blast your way through zombie-like hordes of The Ridden as one of many Cleaners — survivors of the post-apocalyptic world. Use special perk cards to build a deck that will aid, or hinder, your chances of survival. Anyone familiar with Left 4 Dead will feel right at home with this one.

Another game perfect for sharing the spooks with friends, Dead by Daylight is an assymetrical horror game where a team of survivors must outwit and outmaneuver a player-controlled villain. Aside from its obvious horror themes, Dead by Daylight makes for a perfect Halloween playthrough thanks to its addition of popular iconic horror movie characters. Franchises such as Scream, Evil Dead, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre all have a home in Dead by Daylight.
