5 Best League of Legends Skins in 2021 So Far
By Ayrton Lauw
The year is about midway through, and League of Legends skins have not disappointed its loyal followers that are willing to spend their hard-earned money on some good skins. Out of all of the skin releases so far, there are a few that stand out above the rest that also delivers a complete package.
Choosing any of the beautiful splash arts would have been the easy job, however, the best skins for the game go beyond the simple act of purchasing it for the splash art alone. The ones selected are those that are just as suited in the game while also providing an amazing and well-made experience to look at its splash as well.
5 Best League of Legends Skins in 2021 So Far
1. Beezahar
Arguably one of the most ambitious of skin choices for Malzahar, the Beezahar skin was done very well, despite the unique concept. Malzahar is somehow king bee for his hive of workers as even his voidlings are now huge and furry bee creatures. The abilities are really the most impressive part of this skin as most of his skills and even his auto attack is honey related. And it doesn't seem so overbearing or intrusive as this is well executed while keeping the bee theme a reminder to the player. Though Malzahar is a quite serious general bee, the various Chromas available for the skin can make a player think twice about thinking that Beezahar is frightening.
2. Battle Academia Caitlyn
If the splash art didn't seduce you to purchase it, then fear not as this skin as just as great on the champion too. Coupled with the school uniform, Battle Academia Caitlyn shows close similarities to Satsuki Kiryuin, a character from the Kill la Kill anime series. Her recall animation speaks waves of this as she ends the animation with the iconic pose that the anime character shows in the series. Aside from the anime, the splash art and her personality in the game also correctly projected as a rich and smarter-than-you senior at high school. The smug student she is, Caitlyn also is able to glide across the map with the "Homeguard" passive on boots, where she'll also read a book and have a coffee. Overall, if a player loves anime or just likes seeing Caitlyn eating an exorbitant amount of flan, this is the skin for them.
3. Arcana Camille
There is something about the properties of this splash art that just check all of the boxes that define aesthetics. Since its release in April, it was one of the four skins for the Arcana set. This skin based off the design of tarot cards and looks just as impressive in the game, just as much as the splash art is simply beautiful to look at. The theme of the Art Nouveau style is also well-represented in the character in game.
4. Space Groove Lux
Everyone's favorite blonde in the game has finally got her own Sailor Moon-inspired 70's outfit, and the combination is pretty groovy. Unfortunately, there is no unique dance for this skin, however, the recall animation makes up for it with Lux playfully dancing on proper roller skates before heading back to base.
5. Space Groove Blitz & Crank
It's one old and grumpy cat controlling a presumably younger and more blissfully ignorant cat in a capsule as he sends his hook (the capsule) to kill others or die trying. That said, why wouldn't it be a good skin. If the splash art wasn't enough to draw in some customers, the emotes are just as hilarious as it is adorable. Even when Blitzcrank is auto-attacking, cat located in the arm of the character will open its hatch and start scratching at enemy champions too. This skin is just amazing and great to have for some light-heartedness.
