5 Best Qiyana Counters in League of Legends
The best Qiyana counters in League of Legends will be important after the new champion goes live this week in League of Legends Patch 9.13.
Qiyana is the new AD assassin on the block in Patch 9.13. She's bringing in a unique skillset, so it'll take some solving to figure out just how many counters she shares with the likes of Talon or Pyke. Heading into Patch 9.13, though, here are some safe bets. Here are the five best counters to Qiyana.
5. Sylas
Qiyana has a pretty good ultimate in the form of Supreme Display of Talent. Sylas likes going against champions with strong ultimates. That alone puts him in a pretty good spot. He also has a fair bit of mobility to pursue Qiyana past her breaking point and enough poke to go toe-to-toe with her in lane.
4. Viktor
Viktor threatens Qiyana in a couple different ways: First, he's way more durable than Qiyana's preferred targets. Between his item build, base stats, and the shield he gains from Siphon Power, he should be able to trade efficiently against her. Second, Death Ray and Chaos Storm give him tools for dealing with Qiyana when she goes invisible or ducks into the brush — being out of sight doesn't make her safe from Viktor.
3. Irelia
While Irelia might not match Qiyana in terms of map movement, she ought to be able to win most engagements in lane due to Bladesurge and her generally high sustain. Generally, Qiyana wants to be able to duck in and out of combat, but Irelia is pretty good at sticking on a target to prolong a fight.
2. Zilean
Zilean is the bane of assassins. Not only can he blow you out like other mages and slow you to keep you off your target, but he can turn the death of an ally into a boon for the team with a well timed ultimate. Moreover, Zilean has quite a bit more map presence than it may seem, as just a few points into Time Warp and Rewind will see him zipping around the map even faster than Qiyana.
1. Mordekaiser
In order to do her thing, Qiyana needs to be exactly where Mordekaiser wants her to be — right up in range of Obliterate and his passive's AoE. Mordekaiser should win a Level 1 engagement with Qiyana, so he should be able to pressure her out of farming range, starving her of the tools she needs to excel in the mid game.
