5 Best Top Laners in League of Legends Patch 11.8

The top lane has held strong throughout Season 11, a model of consistency even though they haven't received some love in a little while. League of Legends Patch 11.8 won't have many changes for top outside of the slight armor reduction in Frozen Heart. So, it's not likely that we'll see any surprise picks rise to prominence in the new patch but anything is possible.

Darius

Season 11 has been the season of Darius. Since bruisers have been on top Darius has been one of the strongest picks in solo queue. He does massive damage and with the insane mobility changes it's near impossible for champions to get away from him in the early game once he's on top of them. Unless there's a serious shift in the top lane it isn't likely that he'll be falling from this list anytime soon.

Wukong

Wukong is a big game damage dealer that is sure to wreak havoc in the next patch. He's been one of the strongest top laners for a while and still enemies don't have an answer for him. He had one of the highest win rates among all top laners in 11.7 and that's sure to continue moving forward.

Urgot

If there's one thing that's surprised fans throughout Season 11 it'd have to be Urgot's dominance. Players don't know how to stop him and that's helped him have one of the highest win rates in the last patch. Once Urgot gets his hands on an enemy it's almost certain that they're going down.

Malphite

Malphite has been abusing opposing laners, if you need a tank mage in the top lane this is definitely your best bet. He doesn't receive many looks in pro play but is an absolute terror in ranked.

Yorick

Since his rework, Yorick has been a monster in the top lane. His minions have received a nerf in 11.8 that will give them higher priority from turret targeting and a lowered first hit damage on marked targets but Yorick will still be a force due to the strength of his minions. In 11.7 he had the second-highest pick rate of champions in the role, with good reason.
