5 Heroes Who Should Get Skins for Overwatch Halloween Terror 2021
By Jakob Lucas
One of the best parts of any Overwatch event is the skins and that goes double for the Halloween Terror event where creativity is kicked into high-gear and some of the best skins in Overwatch are produced. With Halloween Terror 2021 on the horizon, speculation is running wild over which heroes should get a Halloween skin this year.
While all heroes have Halloween skins, some are quite lackluster giving the creativity the Overwatch team frequently displays. There are also other heroes who haven't gotten a new Halloween themed skin in forever. In no particular order, here are the five heroes who should get Halloween skins next month:
5 Heroes Who Should Get Skins for Overwatch Halloween Terror 2021
1. Bastion
Bastion's design, like others on this list, was released in 2016, the first year of the Halloween Terror event. Not having received an updated skin since then, Bastion is long overdue for one. Moreover, as the year's have progressed so has the Overwatch creative team's ability to design skins. Compared to more recent skins, Bastion's Tombstone design is relatively basic and the Overwatch could definitely give him a fresh update.
2. Zarya
While Zarya's design is definitely creative and fun, it's not centered around Halloween itself like most other skins. Rather, Zarya's Totally 80's design is just a costume that could be mistake for a regular Legendary skin not part of an event. A new, Halloween-themed design would a nice present for players this year.
3. Mercy
First off, Mercy's Witch skin is absolutely iconic and in no way bad at all. The downside to this skin is that it was released in 2016 and Mercy hasn't received a new one since. Like Bastion, she is overdue for another Halloween skin.
4. Reinhardt
Again, there is nothing inherently wrong with the originally released Halloween skins. Coldhardt is a great skin, but the heroes who haven't seen a new skin since 2016 while some heroes already have three Halloween skins is just dumb. Reinhardt deserves a second skin and it would be awesome to see what other creative Halloween designs could be done with him.
5. Torbjörn
Last, but not least, is Torbjörn. Törbjorn's Viking skin a great look, but presents the same problem as Zarya's 80s-themed skin. There is nothing about the skin that inherently screams Halloween like the vast majority of other skins do. It would be nice to see Overwatch's creative team come up with a more Halloween-centric idea for Törbjorn.
