5 Major Improvements Coming to Modern Warfare 3
As more and more information regarding the next Call of Duty is revealed, there are a handful of major improvements coming to Modern Warfare 3 that fans can expect.
Developed by Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to bring back a lot of fan-favorite features that were absent from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Although Activision has not confirmed many aspects of the game just yet, leaks from prominent community members have given fans a decent scope of what to look forward to in MW3.
5 Major Improvements Coming to Modern Warfare 3
Check out the top five major improvements coming to Modern Warfare 3.
1. Slide Cancelling
Although Slide Cancelling is met with mixed feedback from the Call of Duty community, the movement mechanic was sorely missed in Modern Warfare 2. Players were forced to dolphin dive in MW2 and Warzone in the absence of slide cancelling, and the return of elite movement will make MW3 much more enjoyable (and sweaty).
Activision teased the mechanic's return by sending care packages to popular content creators, like Tyler "TeeP" Polchow and Kris "FaZe Swagg" Lamberson, that included a pair of slides, a can, and a burner cell phone. Combined, the objects spelled out Slide Cancel and promised its return come November.
2. Ninja Perk
The perk system in MW3 will allegedly be tied to gear, with the Ninja Perk likely being a pair of boots players can equip. The perk's absence from MW2 led to loud footsteps and Dead Silence that enemies could hear you pop. Now, the return of the Ninja Perk will once again allow players to move silently across the map and make clutch plays in MW3.
3. Red Dots
MW3 is set to feature a classic minimap, including red dots. Infinity Ward's decision to remove red dots from the minimap was just as controversial as their refusal to implement the Ninja Perk. Now, it looks like Sledgehammer Games is listening to the community and bringing back red dots. Enemies will once again appear on the minimap after firing an unsilenced weapon.
4. Reload Cancelling
Reload cancelling is also coming back in MW3. The broken mechanic allows players to quickly reload by canceling their reload animation early. The developers claimed reload cancelling was unrealistic and there removed it from MW2. Now, players will hopefully be able to get their next shot off much faster in MW3.
5. Makarov
The infamous Vladimir Makarov is returning to MW3 to once again provide a compelling thematic story for a Call of Duty title. The familiar face is a staple in the Modern Warfare franchise and is set to face off against Captain Price in MW3. Although he is played by a new actor, the villain will provide some much-needed excitement to the MW3 lore that MW2 lacked.
