5 Changes Players Want to See in League of Legends Patch 9.2
League of Legends Patch 9.2 is around the corner!
As the revelries of the new year fade, players turn from celebrating 2018 to look in earnest towards 2019. Likewise, League of Legends will cycle out the retrospective Patch 9.1 and move forward with Patch 9.2.
Here are five things that players hope to see in League of Legends Patch 9.2
5. Morellonomicon & Oblivion Orb Nerfs
2018 saw the rise of Mages and Assassins relying on Ability Power for their damage output, most dramatically seeing the AD Carry role supplanted by Mages in the bottom lane. While exciting for players who enjoyed AP-favored champions, it became frustrating for those preferring Tanks, Bruisers, and other melee-centric characters. The nerfs to Morellonomicon and Oblivion Orb, which grant increased AP, will be welcome to those who disliked the constant spell bombardment.
4. Valentine's Day Skins
Traditionally, League of Legends has had a romantic approach to Feb. 14 with its Heartseeker line of skins. This year, though, it seems that it's going to be tough love with the Heartbreaker Vi and Heartpiercer Fiora skins. It might be a break from the norm, but the names are truer to their characters than a typical romance.
3. Lunar New Year Skins
In the Chinese zodiac, 2019 is the Year of the Pig and League of Legends is joining in the porcine celebration with its Lunar Revel skins. New champion Sylas celebrates his addition with the Lunar Wraith skin, Tahm Kench foresees a fortuitous year with the Coin Emperor skin, and Sejuani and Vayne erupt with two new Firecracker skins, including a Prestige edition for Vayne.
2. Yorick Changes
The Shepherd of Lost Souls has not enjoyed a high pick rate for quite some time, but Patch 9.2 might see him rise alongside his ghouls in the rankings. More frequent ghoul spawns will help Yorick maintain pressure and a new change to Eulogy of the Isles (R) lets Yorick set the Maiden of the Mist loose to really flood the Rift with the deceased.
1. Sylas: The Unshackled
Demacia is known in the League of Legends lore for its persecution of magic and mages. One such magic user has broken free from Demacian shackles and has now sworn to bring an end to the militaristic city and lead a revolution for freedom, by any means necessary. Sylas, the Unshackled, has gained fan interest not just for his mysterious voice or his sympathetic backstory but most of all for his ultimate, Hijack (R), which allows him to steal an enemy champion's ultimate. The opportunity for both incredible outplays as well as hilarious high jinks means Sylas is the most anticipated part of League of Legends Patch 9.2
