Thoroughbreds are among the best horses in Red Dead Redemption 2. Racing horses by breeding, thoroughbreds sport high stats across the board. They specialize particularly in having a high top speed.

In the base game, players can find a total of three different types of thoroughbreds: Dapple Grey, Blood Bay and Brindle. The first two run wild, and the third must be purchased.

Players who pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption 2 can redeem a code for a special fourth type known as the Dappled Black Thoroughbred. Its stats are all-around better than the other thoroughbreds, with one of the highest top speeds in the game.

To access the Dappled Black Thoroughbred, redeem the code Rockstar Games included with your purchase through the PlayStation Store. Once the new content is installed, head to any stable in the game to find your Dappled Black Thoroughbred waiting in a bay.
