Apex Legends Content Creators and Pros Claim Horizon is 'Ruining' the Game

Apex Legends content creators and pros claim Horizon is ruining Apex Legends, an opinion widely shared by top-tier players. Introduced in Season 7, Horizon quickly became one of the more popular Legends to use. Nerfs and changes to fan favorites like Wraith and Pathfinder have only propelled Horizon's usage.
Apex Legends Content Creators and Pros Claim Horizon is 'Ruining' the Game
Horizon was introduced in Season 7 with some of the strongest abilities that any Legend has. Her ultimate can drag enemies in and hold them relatively in place, while her tactical ability allows her team to take height with a gravity lift. She's able to strafe back and forth in a wide range in the air while shooting or healing, making her height advantage even more troublesome to deal with.
While streaming on March 26, TSM’s Mac "Albralelie" Kenzie Beckwith called out the Gravitational Manipulator as an “anti-fun” character, and that she “doesn’t fit the game.” Although many players use Horizon, combating her mobility is the most troublesome aspect of her kit.
“The reason I don’t like her is because she goes against everything the devs have said they want the game to be, and what they don’t want the game to be,” Albralelie said. He recalled when bunny hop healing was removed because some players had "unfair" mobility in fights. Horizon's Gravity Lift gives her substantial mobility as is.
“The average player can’t f**king beam her out of the sky, let alone the pros,” he continued, adding that Horizon's strafe speed on the Gravity Lift is unbalanced. Albralelie's proposed solution is to give players audio cues when Horizon is around, especially with her Gravity Lift.
In addition to Albralelie's thoughts, SoaR Gaming’s Daltoosh agreed with a Tweet from streamer Faide that Horizon “ruins Apex.”
While we won't see any more changes to Horizon this Season, the developers have confirmed that a Horizon patch affecting her strafe speed in her gravity lift is in the works for Season 9.
