Apex Legends Players Upset After Lifeline Legend Edition Skin Returns to the Store
After appearing to have been phased out from purchase availability towards the end of Season 11, one Apex Legends Legend Edition skin is back up for sale once again in Season 12 — sparking some controversy within the game's community.
In the past, Apex players had been able to purchase various special Legend Edition bundles, which included some combination of a Legendary character skin, a weapon skin, a weapon charm, a banner, a badge and Apex Coins for $20. At the launch of Season 12 Defiance, it was expected that the deals would be gone forever. In recent days, however, one former Legend Edition skin has already made its return to the item shop.
Apex Legends Players Are Upset After Lifeline's Legend Edition Skin Returns to the Store
On March 1, the Lifeline Edition skin was spotted by players in the Apex Legends store, repurposed in a new offering called the "Guardian Angel Bonus Bundle."
In exchange for 1,800 Apex Coins (nearly $20 USD), Lifeline's Legendary "Guardian Angel" skin, the Legendary "Chooser of the Slain" Flatline skin and five Apex Packs are available for purchase.
Ultimately, this certainly isn't as good of a deal, nor is it technically the exact same as the original Lifeline Edition bundle, which also included the "Winged Guardian" Banner, "Angel Struck" Badge and 1,000 Apex Coins.
However, it does make sense why some feel blindsided and bitter about the move, as Lifeline's Legendary Guardian Angel skin clearly isn't as exclusive or limited as Respawn originally made it seem in January.
"People spent money on those and more people spent money on those because they thought they were going away forever," @headchefclone said on Twitter.
With Lifeline's Edition skin back in the shop, it appears to be only a matter of time before others return as well.
