With roughly a week to go until Hogwarts Legacy releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, fan excitement is building. Warner Bros. Games have been steadily releasing snippets of gameplay on social media, giving prospective players a glimpse at the locations, characters, spells and more that they'll get to experience on Feb. 10.
Hogwarts Legacy features an original story set in the Wizarding World. According to the game's official FAQs, the story has players experiencing life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, embarking on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.
Given that the story is something fans haven't seen before, it raises questions about which characters we'll see throughout.
Are Harry Potter, Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger in Hogwarts Legacy?
Warner Bros. Games has confirmed that neither Harry Potter, Hermione Granger or Ron Weasley will be featured in Hogwarts Legacy. The game is set in the 1800's, long before the time period of the original books. This means players are highly unlikely to encounter many familiar faces around Hogwarts and its surrounding locations.
Instead, players can enjoy a host of new characters but perhaps some references to lore from the original material. Players will get to choose their house from the known four choices: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. In addition, various creatures and locations that have featured in both the books and the films will make an appearance.
Hogwarts Legacy launches on Feb. 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game launches on April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, then July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
