Artesian Builds Receives Backlash After Refusing to Honor PC Giveaway With Small Streamer Ambassador
Custom PC builder Artesian Builds has received backlash this week after being called out for not honoring a gaming rig giveaway with a small streamer.
Artesian Builds, partnered with plenty of popular names within the gaming community from NICKMERCS to MrBeast, has seemingly been known for their proactive giveaways, build livestreams, and ambassador program — all of which has involved in the drama in recent days.
On Tuesday, content creator kiapiaa created a Twitter thread timelining her recent dispute with Artesian Builds CEO Noah Katz, who refused to give her a free PC giveaway prize on stream due to her not meeting the qualifications "last minute."
In the clips, Katz can be seen pulling up and seemingly being disappointed by kiapiaa's social media engagement numbers shortly after her username was drawn for the prize.
"All followers combined still under 5k, even across multiple socials," Katz said on stream. "I was trying to be generous. That's a tough one."
In another clip, Katz can be seen fist-pumping after finding the "reason" behind kiapiaa not being eligible to win the PC.
"Here's the reason," Katz said on stream. "This person has three months of ambassadorship, and not a click. Not a single click. Not even once. Purged! This is an ambassador giveaway, and you've got to be collaborating with my company to get my free computers sponsored by Intel."
Since those clips emerged, other clips regarding Katz's apparent tendency to background check ambassadors' followings and re-roll giveaways live on stream have also been circulating Twitter.
According to the Artesian Builds Ambassador Application page, those looking to get involved are required to meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- You have at least 12 Concurrent Viewership (CCV) consistently, according to Twitchtracker
- You have at least 6 CCV AND 40 monthly hours consistently streamed, according to Twitchtracker
- A Facebook stream link with at least 1,000 people following that channel
- A YouTube channel with at least 1,500 subscribers
- You have at least 50,000 TikTok subscribers
- You have at least 1,000 Theta followers
- You have at least 1,000 Trovo followers
Since the aforementioned Feb. 28 giveaway stream, Katz has put out an apology on Twitter, both in a written statement and in a video.
As for kiapiaa, it seems several others have reached out to give her a free gaming PC, from CoolerMaster's Steve James, to JayzTwoCents.
On Wednesday morning, Influencer network and media company OTK announced they have parted ways with Artesian Builds.
