Best archetypes in MLB the Show 19 can be difficult to decide when you play Road to the Show. Each new MLB game, the developers try to add new features to the game or update old ones. Road to the Show has been a classic for a while, and only the Archetypes received any type of change.
Archetypes are rough categories that have strengths and weaknesses and are modeled after existing players.
Best Archetype MLB the Show 19
Players will have the option to choose from five archetypes for your player. Make sure to check which position works best with each archetypes. When you're choosing one, it will state which position works with which archetype best.
- Pure Power: High power and arm strength, low contact and speed.
- Small Ball: High speed and fielding, low power.
- Rock Steady: Relatively even stats all around, except for slightly lower power and speed.
- Mr. Utility: Jack of all trades, with good speed, contact, and arm strength.
- The Anomaly: High speed and power, low contact and plate vision
For pitching, you have three to choose from.
- Flamethrower: High velocity and arm strength, focused on strikeouts.
- Plain Filthy: High breaking ball, stamina, and hits per nine innings.
- Control Freak: High accuracy.
The game has slimmed down the choices from 2018 when you had multiple archetypes for multiple positions. Now you just have to choose more generic ones.
Just follow the suggestions given and you'll be fine!
