Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 1 Delayed: Massive Content Drop Planned
The launch of Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has been delayed from Dec. 10 to Dec. 16, Activision announced Friday.
To make up for the lost time to those waiting on integration between Warzone and Cold War, Activision has its sights set on releasing "the largest free content drop in Black Ops history," and perhaps more battle royale content than was originally anticipated.
Season One Black Ops Cold War Content
Black Ops Cold War will be receiving what many players have been calling for upon its release—more new maps.
In addition to new multiplayer maps, 6-v-6 modes and playlists—including a new Fireteam map and four new maps to accompany the return of 2-v-2 Gunfight—the fan-favorite Black Ops II map, Raid, will be coming to Cold War.
New free-to-acquire weapons will be dropping in Black Ops Cold War as well, including a new assault rifle as teased in the Season One roadmap.
While, Season One will also be seeing a new Zombies game mode, it appears that leaks of the next Zombies map dropping in February will hold true.
Season Challenges, with up to 1,000 Season Levels to progress through, will also being landing with the launch of the Seasonal Prestige system as a part of Warzone's cross-title integration.
Season One Warzone Content
With the launch of Season 1, it appears Warzone will be receiving what had been originally promised, and then some.
Along with the 30-plus Black Ops Cold War weapons and Blueprints coming to Verdansk for the first time, Activision is promising a new Warzone map, game mode and Gulag experience in Season One.
For those keeping an eye out for unlocked FPS and Ray-Tracing features, unfortunately it remains to be seen if the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S will be receiving next-gen upgrades for Warzone.
