Black Ops Cold War: Assault Rifle Tier List November 2020

Black Ops Cold War is out and every player is testing out different weapons to see which are the best. We figured we could offer some guidance by ranking the best assault rifles in Black Ops Cold War right now.

The Assault Rifle is the most important weapon a player can carry and the ability to determine which one to carry could be the difference between eliminating an opponent and being the one that gets eliminated.

Let's check out the five assault rifles out right now in Black Ops Cold War from best to worst.

Black Ops Cold War: Assault Rifle Tier List November 2020

Krig 6 (Grade: A+)

The Krig 6 is the best assault rifle in Black Ops Cold War with its effective range and accuracy. After adding various attachments, the Krig can have incredible accuracy along with the ability to headshot from way across the map. It has the lowest vertical recoil (276) out of all other assault rifles in the game. Though it does have the slowest time to kill (.46) this can be overcome because of its insane accuracy.

AK-47 (Grade: B+)

On damage alone, the AK-47 would be the highest-rated weapon (38). But the worst-rated effective range (38.1) and muzzle velocity (490) is what brings the AK-47 down to a B+. It is still an effective weapon because you can add attachments to help make up for some of its defects, and will typically take one less shot to eliminate your opponents than any other assault rifle in the game.

XM4 (Grade: B)

The XM4 ranks third on our list, but it still an above-average weapon in the game. It lacks the accuracy of the Krig and the force of the AK-47, but its balance across the other measurables is what will keep it above the rest of the assault rifles in the game. It is tied for the highest reload speed and tied for second on the effective range. With the right attachments, players can still do some serious damage with the XM4.

FFAR 1 (Grade: B-)

The FFAR 1 has the highest DPS (424.2) and RPM (909). It is probably the best close-range assault rifle in the game. The last-ranked magazine size (25) coupled with atrocious recoil is why the FFAR 1 finds itself ranked fourth on our list.

QBZ-83 (Grade: C)

Recoil is back at it again and is the main reason the QBZ-83 is ranked last on our list. The horizontal recoil of -85 is an absolute killer. Other than that, the QBZ-83 is actually not a horrible weapon, it has the highest-rated hip-fire accuracy (8) and ADS (283) out of any of the assault rifles. But there just isn't a setup yet where the QBZ-83 feels as strong as the other options in Black Ops Cold War.
