Black Ops Cold War Cutscenes Lagging: How to Fix
Black Ops Cold War cutscenes lagging has been a very common issue in recent weeks for players simply looking to be immersed in the latest Call of Duty title.
Players who have experienced the issue have reported laggy, stuttering cutscenes not only during the campaign, but also during the introduction cutscenes to multiplayer and zombies as well.
Black Ops Cold War Cutscenes Lagging: How to Fix
Unfortunately, unlike last year's Modern Warfare cutscenes lagging issue that was mostly widespread among PC players, the cutscenes lagging issue in Black Ops Cold War seems to predominantly impact players on older generation consoles.
Due to the nature of console gaming, there may not be a surefire solution for the lagging cutscenes until Activision addresses it and releases a fix. A sign that Black Ops Cold War is bugged, or simply hasn't been properly optimized yet for the previous gen consoles, players are reporting that certain cutscenes with real-life footage seem to struggle with the problem more severely than others.
For those playing on a PC with the required specs to run Black Ops Cold War, however, feel free to try out these steps.
- Make sure your system software and Black Ops Cold War are up to date.
- If your PC is struggling with frame rates during gameplay, enable V-sync and reduce the graphical settings, focusing mainly on turning down such settings as texture and shadow
- If your PC has no issues with frame rates, disable V-sync
- Try changing your custom frame rate limit to unlimited
- If you have an Nvidia graphics card, try turning off “In-game overlay”
- If you’re playing in full-screen mode, press and hold Alt+Tab for two to three seconds, then release both keys at the same time
