Is Ranked Play going to be coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War soon? That is a question that has been circulating the COD community ever since the game launched on Nov. 13. And now we might finally have an answer to that very question.

In a game where SBMM continues to be a hot topic of debate amongst the COD community, a ranked playlist really doesn't seem like it should be that tough of a task to accomplish. However, while the public outrage for ranked play to be included has been tremendous, we still have yet to get a solid indication of when we can expect one to grace the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise. That is, until now.

Black Ops Cold War Ranked Play Confirmed, Release Date Unknown

The short answer to that question is yes, a ranked mode will in fact be getting added to Black Ops Cold War. In a recent Reddit post, that showcased a Twitter conversation between Optic COD Player Scump and Treyarch developer David Vonderhaar, one other Treyarch developer who goes by the user FoxhoundFPS confirmed that Ranked Play is on the cards at the moment. As to when we can expect to see it in the game, we still have not gotten any information to go off of from the Treyarch developers. However, the Call of Duty League may have just answered that question for us.

Given the most recent announcement for the start date of the Call of Duty League being Feb. 11, as well as the Kick-Off Classic, which will be taking place from Jan. 23 - 24, we speculate that Ranked Play will be made available to COD players somewhere in-between the two events. After all, it wouldn't do much good to do a showcase for the second season of the CDL if they weren't also going to be releasing a ranked mode.
