Game Chat is obviously a crucial part of the online gaming experience as it allows players the ability to communicate with their friends as well as other gamers. When you are knee deep in a game of Search and Destroy or Hardpoint and you find yourself unable to communicate with your teammates that can be a massive problem. Black Ops Cold War Voice Chat Not Working: How to Fix

If your Voice Chat is broken on the PC version of Black Ops Cold War then first try the old "turn it off and then on again" solution. Go to the options menu and Disable Voice Chat, then re-enable the Voice Chat. If that doesn't work then it could be a case of your PC not detecting in an input device. Here is how you can solve this:

• Go to System Settings on your Windows search bar and click Sound Settings. (Or simply type Sound Settings into the search bar).
• Under the Input setting click the drop down menu to locate your designated microphone.
• Launch Ccold War and then go to the Options menu.
• Under the audio settings tab, set "Microphone Device" to the "Default Communication Device" option.

This should amend the problem for you. If you are using a headset that is plugged into a controller simply unplug it from the controller and plug it into your PC. Then try the above steps.

The console solution to this problem is a little bit more annoying to deal with for Cold War players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. First try the "turn off then on again" solution and see if that does anything. If that doesn't work then simply try reconnecting your preferred audio device in the system's microphone settings. If that still doesn't work then you're best bet is to use the Party Chat function for your respective console instead.
