Borderlands 3: How to Farm for the Rough Rider
By Ryan Borja
The Rough Rider is a legendary Anshin shield that can be acquired in Borderlands 3. The shield first appeared in Borderlands 2 as a unique Jakobs shield, with its most unique attribute being that it has zero shield capacity, leaving the player without a barrier from taking immediate damage. Despite it leaving the player vulnerable at all times, with the right skills and a good enough player, the Rough Rider can be an extremely powerful tool to tear through enemies. For players looking for a challenge, having this shield is a must.
Here is how to farm for the Rough Rider in Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 3: How to Farm for the Rough Rider
In order to efficiently farm for the rough rider, you want to travel to the planet Athenas and make your way towards the bridge area. Make sure you activate the auto-save point and then go through a path into a small rocky clearing located in the middle of the map.
In this area, you can battle the Chupacabratch, who has a 100% spawn rate. With the auto-save point nearby, if he fails to drop the Rough Rider, you can simply restart from the menu and make your way back to the same clearing.
The Rough Rider is most effective with skills that are activated when a shield is depleted, and since it has zero capacity, those types of skills will be activated at all times.
