Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s best M16 loadout is really overpowered and has one of the fastest times to kill in the game.

The M16 tactical rifle is a personal favorite of mine and is a great option to pick up on day one—especially for those who have the Western Front blueprint from the Confrontation Weapons Pack.

For the sake of unleashing the M16's TTK potential, which was the best in the game during the beta, I recommend using the Gunfighter Wildcard to maximize its amount of attachments.

  • Optic: Sillix Holoscout
  • Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
  • Barrel: 15.9" Strike Team
  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Magazine: 45 Rnd Speed Mag
  • Handle: SASR Jungle Grip
  • Stock: SAS Combat Stock

While the optic ultimately comes down to preference, I really like the Sillix Holoscout. It's like the best of both worlds between a red dot and an ACOG scope.

Not being able to stay off the radar hurts, but the amount of recoil control that the Infantry Compensator muzzle offers make the tough pill easy to swallow.

The 15.9" Strike Team offers extra damage and a higher fire rate without sacrificing recoil. Use this attachment to confuse those watching the kill cams in multiplayer.

While a body attachment isn't really important here, the Steady Aim Laser adds 20% hip-fire accuracy for free, making the M16 much more consistent at winning 50-50 fights at close range.

The Field Agent Foregrip underbarrel makes the M16 a laser beam.

Adding the 45 Rnd Speed Mag is nice because it allows the M16 to keep up with the quick pace of Call of Duty multiplayer.

For the handle, opt for the SASR Jungle Grip as it adds much-needed flinch resistance for those gunfights that require more bursts.

Lastly, I'd go with the SAS Combat Stock for the extra movement speed while shooting and aim walking.
