Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1: 5 Things Fans Want
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 is just around the corner. The game is set to release on Nov. 13, however, it is important to realize that Season 1 will begin a month later on Dec. 10. This means that there will be almost a whole month without that sweet seasonal progression.
While you’re waiting for Season 1 and the game itself let’s take a look at what we’re all hoping to see in the game. Now, of course, we can't expect all these things to make it into Season 1, but this is a dream list. Let's dream big.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1: 5 Things Fans Want
1. The Return of Iconic Zombies Maps
Thankfully Activision has already released a roadmap for what we can expect in Season 1. But it’s not precise in what it offers, using wording like “and much more.” What does that even mean? Well, let’s take that and run with it. What would a COD game be without the return of iconic maps? The release of Nuketown ‘84 is already confirmed, but what about the zombie maps?
2. Cross-Progression Between Warzone and Cold War
This feature has already been announced as shown in the picture above. But we don't really know how deep this cross-progression goes. Level-ups and rewards being synced is fairly straightforward, but what about gun progression? These 3 games have different guns, and we can't expect that progression to carry over to each game. But if it did wouldn't that be amazing? Warzone is likely the place where the cross-progression meeting makes the most sense. Warzone is constantly rotating out weapons from the game regularly, there would be no taboo in putting in Cold War guns just so Cold War players could show off a bit.
3. "Classified Warzone Experience"
This phrase appears on Activision's Season 1 roadmap. None of us know what it means. That leaves us only one option: endless and baseless speculation. Warzone is extremely popular, but it is only on one ever-evolving map. And honestly, playing on the same map every round can get a bit tiresome. Maybe this "Classified Warzone Experience" will be the addition of a new Cold War themed map, even if it were a limited-time release it would still be awesome.
4. Co-op Gamemodes!
Looking back on it, playing Spec Ops in Modern Warfare 2 was some of the most fun players have ever had. Simply put, there is nothing like going through a challenging, theatric mission with a friend. Let's hope that remastering Modern Warfare 2 isn't where the game's legacy dies.
5. Clear and Easy to Understand Progression
More content in a game, provided it is high quality, is always a good thing. But content and progression have been implemented in COD: Warzone is not as good as it could be. There are what feels like hundreds of progression paths. You've got achievements, masteries, weekly challenges, daily challenges, seasonal challenges, a constantly refreshing store, multiple types of currency, and the Battle Pass.
