Call of Duty Leaks, Easter Egg Hint Zombies Chronicles 2 is on the Way
As community calls for a Call of Duty: Zombies Chronicles sequel continue to be made, the writing on the wall suggests they'll soon get exactly what they wished for.
Originally released in 2017, Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Zombies Chronicles was a content expansion that allowed players to face the undead in eight remastered classic maps from World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II.
While an updated sequel for the Zombies remastered collection has yet to be officially announced, leaks and easter eggs discovered by those in the community suggest it's not only a sure thing, but has been ready to drop with the release of the franchise's next flagship title.
According to Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson back in June, one last Black Ops Cold War Zombies map is set to go live in September, with the "ready to go" Chronicles 2 maps likely releasing with the upcoming Call of Duty title.
Being that the rumored Call of Duty: Vanguard title is said to be in development by Sledgehammer Games as opposed to Treyarch, it seems more likely that this would hold true especially given the fact that Cold War has been operating on a unique engine.
On Monday, another Call of Duty leaker named Zesty also took to Twitter to not only mention that Zombies Chronicles 2 is "already being/been made," but also that sources say Activision found it tough to market the sequel expansion with so much of the focus remaining on Modern Warfare, Warzone and Cold War.
Having MW phased out naturally by the unveil of Vanguard would definitely give Activision a window to introduce a content-heavy offering such as Zombies Chronicles 2.
Lastly, on Aug. 3, YouTuber CodeNamePizza pointed out that the name "Sally" was hidden in a Season 5 teaser image. As most Zombies fans would likely remember, Pack-a-Punching the Colt 1911 in the first Black Ops gave players the explosive Mustang and Sally combo.
