The timeless controller vs M&K debate might take a backseat in Valorant. This is due to the fact that typical features such as aim assist - almost always present in games with controller support is absent during the Valorant beta - and is currently unknown to be present in the launch version.

YouTube does have plenty of guides and tutorials regarding controller setup for Valorant if you feel so inclined to go at it without the benefit of aim-assist.
With the Valorant beta test still without an official end date, expect there to be some communication from Riot Games regarding console and controller support in the future, as with the recent cross-play success of games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it seems like a sure-fire conclusion that Riot would look to capitalize on that success.
