Can You Prestige in MW3? Prestige System Explained
With so many changes to multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, players want to know if they can still Prestige in the new title.
MW3 might have brought back old, iconic multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), but it also introduced a new Armory system, Daily Challenges, and a handful of broken weapons. One of the biggest downsides to the game's launch, though, is a max level cap at 55. With such a low max level, can players still Prestige?
Here's a breakdown of the Prestige system in MW3.
Can You Prestige in MW3? Prestige System Explained
Yes, you can Prestige in MW3. The system likely remains unchanged from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, meaning players will be able to secure their Prestige emblems as they continue to earn XP and climb through the Prestige ranks. By tallying eliminations, capturing objectives, and assisting their teammates, players will earn XP that will ultimately take them through the Prestige system.
Unfortunately, players must wait until MW3 Season 1 to Prestige. Since players can only reach a max level of 55 in MW3 at launch, hitting Prestige is not possible just yet.
Although Activision did not include any additional Prestige details in the MW3 Season 1 roadmap, they did confirm the upcoming system in another blog post. Activision stated, "Once Season 1 (and future seasons) become available, expect additional challenges unlocked at Prestige Level milestones that offer more difficult objectives and XP rewards."
Activision promised, "Expect intel on the Prestige system closer to Season 1." So, when does MW3 Season 1 begin?
When Does MW3 Season 1 Start?
MW3 Season 1 likely starts on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023. The update will presumably drop the same day as Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 ends. Along with the introduction of Prestige, the MW3 Season 1 Battle Pass is also finally coming in December.
MW3 Season 1 also includes the following content for multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone:
- Three new 6v6 Core MP maps.
- Gunfight, All or Nothing, and more MP modes.
- New storylines in Zombies mode.
- New Urzikstan Warzone map.
- Holiday event, modes, and more.
Stay tuned for more updates on MW3 Season 1 as the season approaches.
