Can You Refund Your Warzone 1 Account?
After the original Call of Duty: Warzone officially shut down, players are wondering if they can refund their Warzone 1 accounts.
Warzone 1 took over the Battle Royale space when it released in March 2020. Even non-Call of Duty players tried out the game to test their luck on Verdansk. The Warzone 1 maps, mechanics, and cosmetics still remain the best ever offered across Warzone's three-year tenure.
Unfortunately, Activision announced their decision to shut down Warzone 1 in an attempt to bring their entire player base to the less popular Warzone 2. In the wake of the announcement, some fans are calling for refunds for all their purchased Warzone 1 content.
So, can you refund your Warzone 1 account?
Can You Refund Your Warzone 1 Account?
No, you cannot refund your Warzone 1 account. All Warzone 1 Operators and Bundles disappeared when Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera shut down for good on Sept. 21, 2023. Since the skins are gone from the entire Warzone community, there are no refunds available to recover all the spent COD points and money.
The decision was met with heavy criticism from both professional and casual Warzone players. Kris "Swagg" Lamberson posted, "Them shutting down Warzone 1 with all the skins we bought is actually mindblowing."
Although Activision softened the blow with news that all Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Operators and Bundles will carry forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, fans are still upset they no longer have access to all their purchased content from the original Warzone.
Is Verdansk Coming to Modern Warfare 3?
Yes, Verdansk is coming to Modern Warfare 3, but not as a Battle Royale map. Although the Modern Warfare 3 trailer featured many POIs from the beloved Warzone map, Verdansk will only appear in Modern Warfare 3's Campaign mode.
The full Verdansk map will only be playable in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. After multiple delays, the mobile game is expected to release alongside Modern Warfare 3 in November 2023.
