Cyberpunk 2077 HDR settings are supposed to give the game the next-gen polish especially on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. That hasn't been the case for many players. As with all Triple-A launches, the game has it's first-day bugs and glitches causing headaches all across the globe. Apparently, it was even worse for reviewers who had a copy of the game without the first-day patch.

But this about the visuals. The first problem is the actual menu and set up. Instead of being able to compare the settings and adjust accordingly, players have complained about having to tweak the settings, hop back in the game and try to compare it from what they saw before. As with any console, your television is mightly important. Players with high-end TVs are still struggling to find the perfect set up.

Based on the screengrab from the in-game menu, it's not as in-depth as players would like. The Xbox wins on convivence as it also includes a Performance and Quality mode, allowing players to choose one or the other, and give them a fairly close experience for both. Do you want your game to run smoothly as possible or look pretty? You could achieve the same thing by moving the sliders yourself, but it would take a lot of tinkering.

The PlayStation doesn't have that ability. They have the sliders, so you can definitely choose your style, but you don't have the Performance and Quality preset. You have to do the work all yourself and based on feedback from players online, it doesn't look all that great when you do. So it may be best to just leave it.
