Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair: All Hidden Monokumas

With the release of Danganronpa: Decadence on Nintendo Switch, many players are getting their first taste of the Danganronpa series. Others will be returning to the investigative visual novel to revist the trials once again. Whether you're a new fan or old, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is a wild ride from start to finish. Along the way, you'll be tasked with locating a bunch of Hidden Monokumas.

These little collectibles of everyone's favorite murder mascot aren't always easy to find. Luckily, we've listed the locations of every single one below. The list is compatible with all console and PC versions.

Obviously, the list contains spoilers for Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. If you don't want anything revealed prematurely, then this list might be best used on your second playthrough.

All Hidden Monokumas in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

There are 30 Hidden Monokumas to be collected across the game's chapters. Each one can only be found in their respective chapters so, sadly, if you miss one you won't be able to go back and get it.

Chapter 1 - First Island

• The first is found in Hajime's room, close to the ceiling. This one is unmissable and must be collected to progress.
• The second one can be found in the Rocketpunch Market, next to the vending machine.
• The third Monokuma can be found at the Airport in the baggage claim. You'll have to wait for it to come around the conveyor belt.
• The forth can be found Old Building's Office, peaking out of a cabinet.
• The final one for this chapter can be found in Byakuya's cabin.

Chapter 2 - Second Island

• The first can be found floating in a dingy on the water of Chandler Beach.
• The second can be found in the Pharmacy at the top of a shelf to the far right.
• The third Monokuma is in the Library, on the balcony to the right.
• Number four is in the closet in the Beach House on Chandler Beach. This one can only be accessed once Deadly Life begins.
• The final Monokuma can be found Mahirus' cabin.

Chapter 3 - Third Island

• The first Monokuma is found to the right in the Movie Theatre lobby.
• The second can be found in Electric Ave, peaking out of a window above Kazuichi.
• The third is in the Hospital. Behind the glass, right at the end of the hallway opposite the stairs. In the section with the grave.
• The forth is also in the Hospital. Go up the stairs and head to the Conference Room. Look to the ceiling.
• The fifth Monokuma can be found in Hiyoko's Motel room.

Chapter 4 - Fourth Island

• The first Monokuma is found at the back of the rollercoaster.
• The second can be seen peaking up over the wall of Nezumi Castle, above Kazuichi.
• The third is on the third floor of Strawberry House, sitting in the bucket.
• The fourth Monokuma is hidden in Monokuma Archive in Grape House, only accessible after Free Time begins. The Monokuma is hidden behind the golden statue in front of the bookcase.
• The final Monokuma is in the Standard Room in Strawberry House, again only accessible in Free Time. This one cannot be found when playing as Nagito.

Chapter 5 - Final Island

• The first it at the Vendor Stalls to the right, eating some ramen.
• The second is in the Factory, sitting atop some Monokuma plushies.
• The third is at the Military Base, atop of the shipping containers.
• The fourth is hidden in shadow at Sea King Industries, to the right.
• The fifth Monokuma is taking a bath in Nagito's cabin.

Chapter 6 - Hope's Peak Academy

It's worth noting that you'll need to obtain these Monokuma's in the order they're listed. Once you leave a room in Hope's Peak, you won't be able to return to it without repeating the Chapter.

• The first is found in the starting area, above in the rafters.
• The second is to the far left in the Gym.
• The third is hidden under the desk in the Bio Lab.
• The forth is in the Office, to the right of Kazuichi.
• The final Monokuma is in Classroom 2-B, to the left of the vending machine.

After collecting all of the Hidden Monokuma's, the real Monokuma will show up in Hajime's cabin to congratulate him.
