Does My Overwatch 2 Rank Reset in Season 3?
Overwatch 2's Season 3 is almost upon us, and Blizzard just revealed the contents of its new roadmap detailing some of the new content and events players can expect soon. For the more competitively-minded among the player base, Blizzard has also announced some changes to the game's ranking system. Here's what you need to know.
In some exciting news for Overwatch 2, the game is getting a new map, its first anime collaboration and a dating sim! February and March are set to be a wild period for the game.
Does My Overwatch 2 Rank Reset in Season 3?
As seen in a new developer blog, a full rank reset is highly unlikely to happen. Instead, players' competitive ranks will update more frequently - every five wins or fifteen losses. Competitive matchmaking is also getting an overhaul that will supposedly reduce the skill gap between players in the same role on different teams, lowering the likelihood of one team dominating another.
Hopefully the changes being made to the game's systems makes Overwatch 2's competitive ecosystem more friendly and enjoyable. For those who want a more casual experience, the game's "LoverWatch" dating sim mode and other events coming to Season 3 might be more their speed.
In the longer term, Blizzard has stated additional improvements are coming to Season 4.
