Dragonfire Bastion Skin Revealed for Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021
Blizzard has revealed the Dragonfire Bastion Skin for the Overwatch Lunar New Year event. The skin seems to take inspiration from the dragons featured in dragon dances that often occur in Chinese New Year festivities.
The seasonal Overwatch event occurs every year and seeks to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which marks the beginning of a calendar based around cycles of the moon. This year the event marks the Year of the Ox. It is the fifth time that the event has occurred in Overwatch history.
The past Lunar New Year events include:
- Year of the Rooster - 2017
- Year of the Dog - 2018
- Year of the Pig - 2019
- Year of the Rat - 2020
Dragonfire Bastion Skin Revealed for Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021
Similar to other Overwatch seasonal events, the Lunar New Year events include a variety of cosmetics that players can unlock.
The Dragonfire Bastion skin reveal showcases Bastion with dragon armor. His traditional colors are swapped for red, orange, and gold, and his chest armor is replaced with the face of a dragon. Bastion's companion, Ganymede, also receives a makeover with the skin and features a set of colors that resemble that of a flame. In the 2017 Lunar New Year event, Bastion's skin was based on a rooster.
Blizzard has also revealed the Kkachi Echo, Tiger Huntress Ashe, Bull-Demon Orisa, and Pale Serpent Widowmaker skins ahead of the event.
Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021, the Year of the Ox, runs Feb. 4-25.
