EA Games Confirms Apex Legends Mobile-Exclusive Legend, Fade
By Jack O'Dwyer
EA Games revealed a new legend, Fade, will be coming exclusively to Apex Legends Mobile.
Every platform has its day and today belongs to mobile players. Revealed officially by Respawn Entertainment through a trailer posted to the verified Apex Legends Mobile Twitter account, Fade is the 22nd character to be added to the roster of playable heroes in-game — with a catch. Unfortunately, those uninterested in mobile gameplay may be out of luck when it comes to giving him a try. Fade appears to be exclusive to Apex Legends Mobile.
Apex Legends Is Getting a Mobile-Exclusive Legend
Ignacio "Fade" Huamani is a 26-year-old former treasure-hunter from Solace. He joined the Apex Games following the death of his family at the hands of mercenary thieves. During an expedition, the family discovered a long-desolate bunker that held a number of high-tech items including a wearable simulacrum suit — which Ignacio put on.
Moments later, they were ambushed by a group of mercenaries looking to rob the family. Igancio attempted to activate the suit only to have it teleport him away using Phase tech and leaving him unable to help his family. The mercenaries killed them all and Ignacio swore to avenge them.
Since then, he has mastered the simulacrum suit, and has entered the Apex Games as a means of drawing out his old assailants to take them down once and for all.
These abilities include:
- Slipstream (Passive): Fade gains a short movement speed boost at the end of his slide.
- Flashback (Tactical): Fade’s suit rips him backwards through another dimension, phasing him to his previous location.
- Phase Chamber (Ultimate): Fade throws an activator core from his suit. The resulting explosion phases everyone within the radius for a few seconds making them unable to deal or receive damage.
Will Fade Come to PC?
There appear to be no plans to bring Fade to PC at the time of writing. Players who want to try out his abilities will have to make the jump to Apex Legends Mobile — at least for the time being.
