Everything Announced in the Genshin Impact Patch 2.7 Livestream

Genshin Impact's Patch 2.7 livestream aired a few days ago, announcing all the content coming to the previously delayed update.

MiHoYo announced earlier this month that the Version 2.7 update would be postponed, however, it seems that this delay is coming to an end. The Special Program, which aired on May 21, announced plenty of new content coming to the game in the next few weeks. Here's everything important announced during the livestream.

Genshin Impact Patch 2.7 Livestream Announcements

1. New Characters and Weapons

Version 2.7 is coming with a few new banners for players to wish on. The first phase of the update will see a re-run of the beloved 5-Star Xiao, as well as the introduction of a new 5-Star Hydro Bow user Yelan. The update is also coming with a new 5-Star bow entitled Aqua Simulacra, which is likely to be Yelan's best-in-slot weapon. The second phase will have a re-run of the 5-Star gang leader Arataki Itto, as well as the introduction of a new 4-Star named Kuki Shinobu (a ninja, and fellow member of the Arataki gang). Finally, a new 4-Star bow called Fading Twilight will be available as an event reward.

2. Archon Quest Continuation

For players who have eagerly awaited a continuation of Genshin Impact's main story, they'll get to enjoy a new section of the main Archon Quest this update. The Traveler will get to explore The Chasm alongside Arataki Itto, Yanfei, Kuki Shinobu, and Yelan, as they work to discover the mysteries of The Chasm and how it connects to the war Liyue fought 500 years prior. Players will also run into Xiao, who is investigating the Chasm for his own reasons. The livestream teased that the Traveler would be encountering their missing twin during this Archon Quest, so players will have to play through it themselves to see how the story unfolds.

3. New Events

The 2.7 livestream announced several new events for players to participate in. Some of the most exciting ones include Kuki Shinobu's new Hangout Event, where players can learn more about the reliable Arataki Gang leader. The game is also introducing a new event entitled "Perilous Trail"– a new challenge game mode in which the Traveler must survive (alongside their allies) as they get stranded in the depths of The Chasm. A new Domain combat challenge "Realms of Guilde and War" will also become available as the Traveler plays through the new Archon Quest. Additionally, for those who enjoyed playing the Lyre during the Windblume Festival, "The Almight Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival" is a new rhythm game event coming with plenty of rewards for players to earn.

4. The Chasm OST Release

Genshin Impact is known for its beautiful and immersive soundtrack, and the 2.7 update is coming with the release of a new OST album. The album, entitled "Millelith's Watch," is produced by the HOYO-MiX team, and will contain all the music from the new Chasm area.

5. Genshin Impact Merchandise

The livestream revealed that Genshin Impact is partnering with Funko to release a new line of Genshin Impact Funko Pops. As of now, the line consists of an Aether, Lumine, and Paimon figurine. The livestream also teased the future release of Keqing, Diluc, and Hilichurl figurines as well.
