We are just about halfway through FIFA 21's Team of The Year promotion and we have already seen our fair share controversy regarding EA's ratings for the cards. With that being said, here are our predictions for both the FIFA 21 TOTY defenders as well as the goalkeeper.

FIFA 21 TOTY Defenders and Goalkeeper Ratings Prediction

1. Manuel Neuer (GK)

Neuer is no stranger to being a member of the the TOTY, having been a part of several iterations of it since he joined the Bavarians back in 2011. Last year saw Neuer hit heights that many of us have not seen for some time as he re-established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. It is with that in mind that we think his TOTY card will be rated at 97.

2. Alphonso Davies (LB)

Alphonso Davies has been the talk of the footballing world this past year as the young Canadian showed off his versatility for Bayern Munich in their run to winning the UEFA Champions League last season. Many experts believe him to be the best Left-back in football right now and many FIFA fans seem to think so to. We are hoping to see his card top out at around 95 but given how EA have been doing the ratings for these players it is anyone's guess at this point.

3. Sergio Ramos (CB)

If there was ever one player who is seemingly guaranteed his place in the TOTY it would be Sergio Ramos. The veteran defender has been one of the best in his position for many, many years so to see him being voted into this iteration of the event seems right to us. He will probably be a 95 or 96 at most, which would make him one of the highest rated cards in the promotion.

4. Virgil Van Dijk (CB)

Virgil Van Dijk was without a doubt the best centre-back last season. His immense work rate and his anchoring of Liverpool's backline proved to be a crucial part of their quest to lift their first Premier League title. The very least he deserves is a solid 96 in our opinion.

5. Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

If someone were to ask you who the best RB in football is right now you would most likely say Alexander-Arnold and few would be able to argue against that statement. The Englishman was practically a shoe-in for the TOTY this season and it is unlikely that he will lose that spot anytime soon. With that being the case we believe he will be given a rating of 94 or 95 for his successes last year.
