FIFA 23 Team of the Year goalkeeper nominees were revealed Jan. 9, a day before the voting period.

Team of the Year is the most anticipated promotion each FIFA Ultimate Team cycle. The best players from the last year receive monster upgrades making them the most sought after and expensive items in the game. Nominees were revealed Jan. 9 for goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and attackers.

• Thibaut Courtois - GK / Real Madrid

• Gregor Kobel - GK / Borussia Dortmund
• Hugo Lloris - GK / Tottenham Hotspur
• Mike Maignan - GK / AC Milan
• Emiliano Martinez - GK / Aston Villa
• Wojciech Szczęsny - Juventus
• Kevin Trapp - Eintracht Frankfurt

Thibaut Courtois should be the odds-on favorite to win considering Real Madrid's title-winning campaigns in the Champions League and LaLiga. It's unknown how much the World Cup is going to factor into EA Sports' decision making and the fan voting, so Emiliano Martinez could be a favorite to win as well.

FIFA 23 Team of the Year voting starts Jan. 10.
