The Call of Duty League is back! The league is set to return Friday with the Dallas Home Series.
Starting this week, the league is shifting all regular season matches to an online competition and broadcast format. For the Dallas Home Series, eight teams will compete online — including the Chicago Huntsmen, Dallas Empire, Florida Mutineers, Los Angeles Guerrillas, Minnesota Røkkr, Paris Legion, Seattle Surge, and Toronto Ultra.

Five Reasons to Get Excited for the Call of Duty League’s Return
Here are five reasons to get excited for the Call of Duty League’s return:
5. Time for the Los Angeles Guerrillas to Wake Up
The Guerrillas currently sit in 11th place. The team hasn’t earned any CDL Points since Launch Weekend and has shuffled its roster since. Fans thought names like Patrick “ACHES” Price, Renato “Saints” Forza, and Andres “Lacefield” Lacefield would be leaders for the side. Instead, all three were benched at the Los Angeles Home Series. The team ended up losing two matches in a row to OpTic Gaming and the Seattle Surge. If the team wants to make a playoff push, the time to wake up is now.
4. What’s Toronto’s Identity?
The Toronto Ultra has the biggest lineup in the league when it comes to active and substitute players. The team’s only won a single series out of six so far in 2020. Toronto hasn’t netted any CDL Points since Minnesota, leaving fans questioning the team’s identity. After some time off, this is a prime opportunity to gain some ground in the standings and establish some positive momentum.
3. Important Weekend for Seattle
The Seattle Surge has two multiple time world champions on its roster with Damon “Karma” Barlow and Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov. Once thought to be a powerhouse in the league, the team hasn’t performed — currently sitting in ninth place with only 20 CDL Points. It’s still early in the season, but a strong weekend could see the team jump up in the standings and put pressure on OpTic Gaming and the London Royal Ravens.
2. Is Florida for Real?
The Florida Mutineers surprised most when the team made a run to the finals of the Atlanta FaZe Home Series. The team ended up getting swept by the home team in the final, but Florida took down names like OpTic Gaming, London, and Chicago along the way.
This weekend back will be a litmus test to see if this lineup is for real and can consistently contend with the big teams.
1. Top Teams in Action
The Call of Duty League returns with the Chicago Huntsmen, Dallas Empire, Paris Legion, and Minnesota Røkkr all in action. That’s four of the top five teams currently in the standings. The only top team not playing this week is the Atlanta FaZe. Dallas bested Minnesota at the Los Angeles Home Series, so the Røkkr will be out for revenge this weekend.
Chicago looks to regain sole possession of first place as the team is tied on aggregate points with Atlanta. A strong performance by Paris could see them jump into a top three spot.
The Call of Duty League returns Friday, April 10, at 4 p.m.ET. All matches will broadcast live on YouTube.com/CODLeague.
