The theme's impact goes beyond new cosmetics, though. Reliable Fortnite leaker, HYPEX, posted a teaser image to X that shows Pandora's Box opening above the island. If the developers are staying true to the Greek myth, then Pandora's Box is bringing the evils of the world to Fortnite.

Jumping from Fortnite Underground to Greek Mythology might not make much sense on paper, but the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 lore is already connecting the two seasons. Suddenly, Medallions are about a lot more than just extra heals.

According to reliable Fortnite leaker, FNChiefAko, the Medallions in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 hold an "ancient power." Although the extent of that power is currently unknown, the lore hints at possibly new advantages coming to players who secure a Medallion.

Additionally, the leaks warned fans to look out for an "ancient power awakening on the Island." The power can be anything from Zeus' lightning to the reintroduction of tornadoes.
